Description

This course will cover the topics normally covered in a high school Geometry course and is designed to prepare students for Algebra II.

Cost

The cost of the course is $70 per month for nine months for students attending a live class on-site, $58 per month for distance learners. Registration fees also apply. Students will need to purchase a Pearson’s MyLab access code.  The book, PowerPoint slides, videos, tutorial assistance, homework assignments, quizzes, tests, and student’s solution manual are all embedded inside of MyLab.  The cost for the code which is used for both semesters is $99.95 and can be purchased online at www.coursecompass.com

Lectures and Class Time

Class time will primarily be spent on instruction. Students should bring notebooks, writing utensils, compass, protractor, ruler and TI-30x Multi-view calculator to each class. Students can print the homework assignments from MyLab and bring to class if so desired.

If a student misses class or choose to take the class online, they will have access to PowerPoint presentations, videos and interactive tutorials over the covered material. 

Textbook

The textbook is embedded inside Pearson’s MyLab.  Students will have access to the book, videos, the solution manual, instructional PowerPoint slides, online tutorial to aid in their learning process.  This will allow both online and onsite students to develop a deeper understanding of the concepts.

Homework, Tests and Grades

Students will be given specific assignments to complete each week. Assignments will consist of online homework (15%), quizzes (25%), tests (40%) and final exam (20%).  Students will receive immediate feedback on all submitted homework assignments and all other assessments will be returned within 24 hours.   Students will have access to additional practice problems online as well as problems from the book along with the solution to book problems in case extra work is needed. 

Internet Access

Access to a computer with a high-speed internet connection is required for all students. Instructional materials such as lecture videos, lecture notes, homework assignments and tests will available over the internet. Progress reports will be included within MyLab and updated daily.
