One Mission Church, Steinman Hall
British Lit students under
the leadership of Mrs. Michelle Shaw Esq. and Mrs. Margaret Shuman will be
staging a civil trial of Victor Frankenstein. Students have studied Frankenstein and volunteered to be on
teams of lawyers or to be witnesses for the defendant or plaintiff. A
non-BL jury will listen to evidence presented and decide if damages should be
awarded to the creature.
Jurors and audience will be able to choose for
themselves if "Dr. Frankenstein" should be found liable of
negligence, malpractice, and emotional distress in the case brought by his
creation. If you want to be a juror and are 15 or older, drop Margaret Shuman
an email and she'll add you to the list until we get 12. You do not need to
know the story to be a juror. In fact, only what is presented during the trial
can be considered in determining a verdict. Anyone may attend. Children who are
old enough not to be a distraction in the courtroom are welcome to come with a
parent, and any students age 13 and up are welcome without a parent.
