How To Launch A Business The Right Way And Shark Tank Competition Grade Level: Middle and High School (7th-12th) DESCRIPTION First the student will take a finding your spiritual gifts assessment, 360 Degree Assessment, skills assessment, career assessment, and entrepreneurship assessment to determine if he/she has what it takes to become a successful executive business-person and entrepreneur in our global competitive business marketplace. Next the student will learn about biblical and non-biblical people who had their own businesses and were executives. Furthermore, the student will learn entrepreneurship glossary of terms, ten startup mistakes to avoid, the entrepreneur's toolkit, explore the advantages and disadvantages of business ownership, over 100 ways to use social medial to boost his/her company's marketing, should he/she consider a franchise business, businesses for teens, review various business corporate forms, research entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial endeavors and group dynamics, and how to write an executive summary and business plan. How Will You Benefit From This Class Upon completing this class, the student will have the tools to think and operate like a CEO and entrepreneur. The YBU Shark Tank and Company Website Showcase Upon the student completing his/her business plan and company website, the student will participate in the Youth Business University Shark Tank and Company Website Showcase with the winners receiving the following cash prizes:
Activities Business Partnerships with small businesses, guest speakers, field trips, and learning activities will be incorporated in this course. Cost This course consists of two semesters. The cost of the course is only $65 per month. Lectures and Class Time Class time will primarily be spent on instruction and classroom projects. The YBU Shark Tank and Company Website Showcase Fee: $20 Other Course Materials
Minimum: 5 Students Homework, Tests and Grades Students will be given specific assignments to complete each week. Assignments will consist of field trips (20%), participation (20%), homework (20%), quizzes and tests (20%), and final exam (20%). Students will receive feedback on all submitted homework assignments and all other assessments will be returned within 3 days.
