Open to high school and middle school students, this class involves watching movies, discussing a wide variety of topics, and more. The goal of this class is to learn how to think with discernment and get equipped to impact our culture for Christ! This is not a homework-heavy class, but we will have a few reading assignments, writing assignments, creative projects, and classroom presentations throughout the year. Themes we will tackle include adventure, blindness, choices, community, dreams, faith, hope, love, refugees, sushi, transformation, and many, many more. We will view movies from around the world (Algeria, Australia, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Scotland, United Kingdom, United States of America, Venezuela). (There are no repeats from 2015-16 or 2016-17!)

A weekly email with what we did in class / homework assignment / what's coming up will be sent to both students and parents.

This course can be used to satisfy either of these as elective requirements:

  • DOE 45.01200 Current Issues
  • DOE 52.07100 Dramatic Arts/Film/Video & Television I

Cost: $50 / month for 9 months (or $400 if paid in full by the first week of class)
