This course fulfills the requirements of high school chemistry for both STEM-oriented students who are interested in taking honors or advanced science classes in high school and non-STEM students who lack confidence or who think they "don't like" science.  Excellent preparation for Biology and AP Biology, Physical Science, Environmental Science, AP Chemistry, Forensic Science, and other high school science courses.

Sandra Williams has taught this high school chemistry course for more than 17 years, at AAEN, LEAD, Vantage Point, and Eastside.  Her classes include extensions of the basic curriculum and are popular with both STEM and non-STEM oriented students. 

Textbook

Friendly Chemistry, by Dr. Joey A. Hajda

•             Student Textbook (required)

•             Student Workbook (optional)

Each student must purchase Friendly Chemistry Student Textbook, 4th Edition, by Dr. Joey A. Hajda. The Student Workbook may be used along with the textbook, to keep the textbook clean for resale, but the workbook is NOT a textbook.  All manipulatives will be provided by the teacher.

Tuition

$590/year, if paid at first class

$320/semester, payable at first class per session

A $5 late fee, per week, will be charged for late payments. 

Materials Fee

A non-refundable materials fee of $40 is due upon enrollment.
