Today, good communication skills are more important than ever. Being able to share your ideas clearly and confidently is a skill that helps you in every part of life. That’s where the “Get It Write” course comes in.  This class focuses on the basics of writing—grammar, structure, and style. Through individual and group projects with helpful feedback, you'll build a toolkit that makes it easier to express your thoughts. These fun and interactive lessons are designed to help unlock your communication skills, improve your writing, and prepare you to succeed in our connected world.

         This course is not just about writing essays or reports. It helps develop skills that will benefit you now and in the future. Imagine being able to share ideas that inspire others, influence decisions, and make a difference. Whether you want to lead a business, become a scientist, or create art, being a strong communicator is essential. “Get It Write” gives you the tools to share your ideas, connect with others, and express your creativity.  We also emphasize working with classmates and giving each other feedback. OCTOBER:        Write This Story---Descriptive Writing Photo Prompts

NOVEMBER:     Attitude of Gratitude-Multi Media Project  

DECEMBER:     Winter Break—Writing Revisions

JANUARY:        Write Your Story---Autobiographical

FEBRUARY:      Write My Story---The Sankofa Project-Black History Bios

MARCH:             Write The Story---Persuasive/Commercials---Informative & Debate

APRIL:                Poetry---Theater---Song

MAY:                   Writer’s Portfolio (Final)     

Grades are based on: Homework, Class Participation, Tests, and Quizzes.

Class Size: 6-10

TUITION DETAILS:

Two ways to pay:

Full: $450 per semester--due at the beginning of each semester. (August and January)

Monthly: $150 for the first month of each semester. (August and January) This includes tuition and materials costs.

The three remaining $100 payments are due at the beginning of each month.
