Betsy is passionate about helping students appreciate God’s world more fully through science. After earning her Ph.D. in Organometallic Chemistry from the University of California at San Diego, Betsy enjoyed several years teaching chemistry to college students as an adjunct professor at various community colleges around the country. In 2011, the Lord called her to homeschool her own children, and she switched focus to teaching science courses to homeschoolers. She strives to take a very hands-on and practical approach to science education in the classroom, and sees the teacher as the “keeper of the keys” to help each individual student unlock his or her door to understanding.
Betsy loves hiking, cooking, board games, big cups of coffee, and is so geeky that she can frequently be found working chemistry problems for fun on the couch while streaming Netflix shows with her husband.
