Meg Tanner is a native of
Atlanta. She received her undergraduate (Psychology) and graduate degrees
from Georgia State University. After receiving her Masters in Community
Counseling in 1991, she was hired by Village Atlanta to co-develop and
direct a residential spiritually based recovery program for homeless mothers
and their children. In 1996 she was commissioned by her church as a
full-time missionary and began working as a family advocate and youth minister
with the Atlanta Youth Project. In 2000 she began working as an Interrelated
teacher for the Atlanta Public School system serving high school students with
intellectual, learning and emotional disabilities, primarily boys with
emotional and behavioral issues. She left the official classroom in 2008
and since then has been tutoring students and assisting parents through
her academic coaching/parent support/& educational consultation
business. She has partnered with many homeschool families including those
at Eastside and assisted dozens of students in successfully completing Mr.
Owens Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Geometry courses.
